 | Kent Ostrander (B.A. – Vanderbilt University) attended Lafayette High School in Lexington and then studied at Vanderbilt University, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in mathematics. He was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honorary society as a junior.
Kent began work on The Family Foundation in 1988, establishing a Board and incorporating the organization in 1989.
Kent and his late wife, Barbara Lee Baugh, have four children.

|  | Martin Cothran ( B.A – University of California, Santa Barbara; M.A. - Simon Greenleaf) is the senior policy analyst for The Family Foundation. Martin helped launch the organization and has been critical to its success. While Martin makes final policy decisions and manages strategy, he also teaches Latin, Logic, and publishes educational curricula. In his spare time Martin lectures and maintains two blogs.
Martin's wife, Joyce, and four children support all his great work.

|  | Richard Nelson (B.S. – University of Wisconsin; M.A. – Regent University/Public Policy) has served The Family Foundation in Western Kentucky for ten years after working in the Wisconsin State Legislature and for The Family Research Institute of Wisconsin. Richard is a policy analyst with particular expertise on the regulation of sexually-oriented businesses. He speaks to various civic organizations and churches, writes Op-Eds, assists local governments with ordinances, and offers perspective on radio and television.
Richard is the proud husband of Kari and father of four, and resides in Cadiz.

|  | Sarah Roof (B.S. - University of Evansville) is the publications editor for The Family Foundation and the project coordinator of the Kentucky Candidate Information Survey. She is also a member of the Commonwealth Marriage Initiative Task Force and researches policies that strengthen and promote marriage. After serving as an intern for The Family Foundation in the Summer of 2000, Sarah joined the staff in 2002.
Sarah and her husband, Steve, reside in Richmond with their daughter, Hannah.

|  | Don Pinson ( B.A. – Carson-Newman/ Political Science, History) joined The Family Foundation as a policy analyst in eastern Kentucky in 2003. As an historian, Don has an encyclopedic knowledge of American history and government. He speaks to civic organizations and churches and gives seminars on the Founding Fathers and the principles that helped define America. During the General Assembly, Don works with legislators to pass pro-family legislation.
Don and his precious wife, Vicki, live in Clay County with their two children, Joel and Christis.
