Let Us Pray

Your Will Be Done

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” – Matthew 6:10

Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in part of His sermon on the mount, taught His followers to pray as follows, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” However, as believers, we are not only to pray for these things, but we are to act in such a way to bring these things forward as well.

In other words, we are to pray fervently for the Lord’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, but then we are to act earnestly to see the Lord’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven as well. Believers are to labor faithfully and continually to see Kentucky and America become a land where God’s laws are followed, His teachings revered, and His ways honored.

As it stands right now, our country is not a land that honors the teachings of God. His will is not being played out on earth as it is in heaven as marriage continues to be devalued, life is being terminated through abortion, the God-given designation of sex is being denigrated by transgender ideology, and more.

Even as things stand now, we are called by God to remain steadfast in praying for God’s will to be done in our state and nation and to also remain relentless in our efforts to see His will be done here. This in part can be accomplished through our faithful effort to continuously pass God-honoring legislation here in Kentucky.

LET US PRAY…
Father, help us to be a people of prayer fervently seeking Your will to be done here in our land. Lord, empower us to not only be a people of prayer but also to be a people of courage to act in such a way that allows for Your kingdom to come. Lord, thank You, for the opportunity to labor and work for Your kingdom’s cause. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
