Parental Authority Under Threat

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5

The radical pro-abortion lobby has recently been releasing many television and video ads full of disinformation that are aimed at trying to defeat the “Yes for Life” Amendment on November 8th.

One video’s setting is in a beautiful church where Rev. Wayne A. Gnatuk spoke directly into the camera on Amendment 2. In the video, Rev. Gnatuk described that as a pastor in the “Christian faith” he has spent a considerable amount of time “counseling people in their time of need including women facing hard decisions like abortion.”

The pastor goes on to say that “the decision to get an abortion is between a woman, her family, and her God.” Furthermore, he said, “I stand strong in my faith and will vote no on 2.” From an orthodox Biblical perspective, there is a glaring contradiction in these statements. If the Christian God, who has revealed Himself through the Scriptures, is in the equation surrounding the decision of whether or not a woman should get an elective (non-medically necessary) abortion then the answer will always be a clear no.

God has spoken with clarity through His Word that human life should not be terminated inside or outside the womb. When the pastor states that he will stand strong in his faith and vote no on 2, it is clearly seen is that his faith is not one that is built on the unchanging Word of God.

God’s Word clearly condemns abortion and thus leads one to realize elective abortion is not permissible in the sight of God. The pastor needs to realize, standing strong in the true faith leads only to a Yes vote on Amendment 2.

LET US PRAY…
Father, thank You for speaking with clarity in Your Word so that we may know and follow Your ways. Lord, help us to articulate effectively to our fellow Kentuckians that You have clearly condemned abortion in Your Word. Father, may Kentuckians vote for life on November 8th in overwhelming numbers. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
