Let Us Pray

Rising Hostility Towards Churches in the U.S.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

The Family Research Council (FRC) recently published concerning numbers associated with acts of hostility against churches in the United States. The FRC found that over the last five years, from 2018 to 2022, there has been an increase in violent attacks on churches throughout our nation.

Disturbingly, over the last five years, it has been found that there were at least 420 acts of hostility perpetrated against houses of worship in the U.S. These actions of violence include vandalism, arson, gun-related incidents, bomb threats, and more.

Out of the last five years, 2022 had more incidents of violence towards churches than any other year in the last five years examined. Not surprisingly, out of these acts of violence against U.S. churches in 2022 alone, at least 57 of them were directly connected to pro-abortion activists.

The reality is, there is diminishing respect and reverence for houses of worship and religious freedom throughout our nation as our country continues to become more secular in our postmodern world. Let the Body of Christ, the church, remain diligent and strong as we know even in the midst of these attacks the “gates of hell will not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).

LET US PRAY…

Father, please protect Your church in the midst of attacks that are being thrown at Your people. Lord, may we as Your Body remain strong and faithful no matter what comes our way. Father, help us to remember even when we experience trouble, You have overcome the world. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
