A national investigation conducted by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed that two of the nation’s largest health care systems, New York University Langone Hospitals (“NYU”) and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (“UPMC”), violated federal law with their sex-rejecting procedures on minors. The DOJ recently announced they reached a settlement that with these medical centers that requires them to stop these barbaric procedures immediately.
NYU and UPMC will no longer be able to administer puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or perform mutilating surgical procedures on confused and vulnerable children. The agreement includes monetary payments: $8.5 million from NYU and $950,000 from UPMC.
These agreements follow similar agreements reached with Mount Sinai Health System in New York, Texas Children’s Hospital, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and Connecticut Children’s Hospital. The DOJ stated that it is not finished holding hospitals accountable and making sure to protect children from the lifelong harm that accompanies sex-rejecting procedures.
Brett Shumate, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division said, “But I want to be clear: our efforts and investigations into other providers are ongoing. Those that have broken the law and not resolved their potential liability will be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible.”
The DOJ is putting protecting children first by protecting them from those who want to confuse them about who they are to make a profit. Hospitals are supposed to be places of healing, not places of horror. Any hospital that mutilates children needs to be held accountable. Thankfully, the DOJ is making sure of that.
LET US PRAY…
Father, we praise You for the Justice Department’s work to protect minors from sex-rejecting procedures. Lord, may this truly be the beginning of the end of hospitals being run by radical ideologies and not by real medical science based on biological reality. Father, thank You for creating each one of us, male or female, in Your image. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
