“He said, ‘But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.’” – Exodus 3:12

There are moments when God calls us to accomplish tasks that seem impossible from our earthly perspective. We have all been in positions where we know God is asking something of us, but we think it’s impossible because of our inadequacies.
Moses faced a situation where he knew God was calling him to do the unthinkable. He was commanded by God to confront Pharaoh and lead Israel out of Egypt (Exodus 3). As Moses evaluated this command to challenge the most powerful ruler in the world at the time, he saw all of his inadequacies and responded to God by saying, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” (Exodus 3:11).
God responded in the moment of Moses’ doubt by reminding him that His presence would be with him, stating, “I will be with you” (Exodus 3:12). God’s interaction with Moses teaches us two things: God is always with His people, and His presence empowers our faithfulness.
Don’t let your inadequacies hold you back from the mission God is calling you to fulfill. God promises His presence to His people. He walks alongside us, and He is infinitely able to do whatever He pleases through us if we are simply obedient.
LET US PRAY…
Father, empower us to be faithful followers who joyfully and obediently accept the missions You give us in life. Lord, we praise You for the promise of Your presence and for walking alongside us throughout life. Father, help us to focus on Your power and presence and not our own inadequacies as we faithfully do Your work. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
