Kentucky House Passes "Medical" Marijuana Bill (March 23, 2022)

“Abstain from every form of evil.” – Thessalonians 5:22

Recently, House Bill 136 was passed by the Kentucky House of Representatives and now resides and awaits action in the Senate. House Bill 136 seeks to legalize so-called “medical” marijuana.

Under this bill, physicians could recommend “medical” marijuana to patients for specific illnesses. These specified conditions are cancer, multiple sclerosis, chronic pain, epilepsy, chronic nausea, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

The problem is that marijuana has not been scientifically proven at this point to be of medicinal benefit. “Medical” marijuana has not been through the rigorous, thorough, and exhaustive process that is needed to approve of a new medicinal drug that ensures that it will provide benefits to one’s health.

Medical practices and medicines should be tested and proven under the most strenuous of methods that have not yet taken place with “medical” marijuana. Hopefully, the Kentucky Senate will reject and vote down this bill.

LET US PRAY…

Father, empower the Kentucky Senate to courageously reject House Bill 136. Lord, help us to be a people who stand for Your truth in all circumstances. Father, please light a fire in all the legislators in Kentucky to only promote and propose legislation that is honoring to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
