Let Us Pray

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.” – Ephesians 6:10

The Miami-Dade School Board in Florida recently faced a proposed resolution that had many parents concerned about what their children were going to be taught. The measure that was before the board’s consideration was an effort to declare the month of October as “LGBTQ History Month.”

This caused parents much concern because, if the resolution was passed, students would have been taught the so-called “virtues” of alternative sexualities and genders during the month of October. This was an attempt to force upon students, regardless of their parent’s feelings and beliefs, the creeds of the LGBTQ community.

Thankfully, parents stood strong against this resolution and publicly voiced their opposition to the measure in front of the Miami-Dade School Board. Parents rightfully proclaimed that this resolution undercut their parental authority and threatened their religious liberties.

Fortunately, the Miami-Dade School Board listened to the concerned parents and in strength voted down this resolution overwhelmingly, 8-1. It is time that parents’ rights are ensured as a fundamental right or resolutions like this one will just continue to be launched at children in the public school system.

LET US PRAY…
Father, thank You for the courage these parents portrayed in the Miami-Dade School District. Lord, we praise You for the Miami-Dade School Board’s willingness to protect parents’ rights and vote down this resolution. Father, empower us Kentuckians to also stand strong for parents’ rights here in our Commonwealth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
