Federal Parental Rights Bill Filed

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6

Days ago, Sen. Tim Scott (R) of South Carolina, filed a parental rights bill named the “Families’ Rights and Responsibilities Act.” This bill is desperately needed because, over the last few years, we have witnessed a barrage of attacks on parental rights in our nation.

The Families Rights and Responsibilities Act will make certain that parental rights are fundamental and cannot be trampled upon when government officials do not agree with parents’ decisions. This Act will guarantee that the court system must recognize that parents’ rights are fundamental as well.

This legislative measure focuses on education and ensures that parents can make the best decisions regarding the school that their children attend. Furthermore, the Act ensures that parents will be able to make the best medical decisions for their children.

Here in the 2024 Kentucky legislative session, there is also attention being given to protecting and safeguarding parental rights. Rep. Shane Baker has filed a follow-up parental rights bill to the parental rights measure passed in 2023.

LET US PRAY…

Father, please empower those in the U.S. Congress to act swiftly and pass the Families Rights and Responsibilities Act. Lord, please prompt the Kentucky General Assembly to pass the follow-up parental rights bill that has been filed by Rep. Baker. Father, strengthen parents across our nation to lead and guide their children in Your truth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
