Let Us Pray

A New Year, New Legislative Session, And An Unchanged Mission

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”- Colossians 3:17

In some ways, it seems that 2023 flew by like a blink of an eye, as the year appeared to move at light speed. We are now officially in a new year as 2024 is here.

Many people have set New Year’s resolutions to accomplish this year. Some set New Year’s goals around regularly exercising, eating better, starting a new endeavor, and more.

However, the mission for the Christian is an unchanged one. Paul in Colossians 3:17, stated that the believer’s mission is, “whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

As we launch into the new year and the new 2024 Kentucky General Assembly may we resolve to do all things, whether in word or deed, in the name of the Lord Jesus. With the major legislative battles that lie ahead may we hold fast to our calling to serve the Lord faithfully in all our ways!

LET US PRAY…
Father, empower us to speak and act with clarity and conviction for You in this new year and new legislative session. Lord, may we directly advance the truth about life, family, marriage, religious liberty, human sexuality, and more to those in power who shape our Commonwealth. We pray for wisdom and courage for our elected leaders here in Kentucky as the 2024 legislative session begins. Father, thank You, for allowing us the privilege of representing You and Your truth to our world. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
