September 11, 2001 is a date Americans must never forget. On that morning, twenty-five years ago, Al Qaeda terrorists hijacked four American airplanes.

These Islamic terrorists were on suicide missions. Two of the planes were flown into the World Trade Center in New York City, causing the two massive structures to collapse, killing thousands of our fellow Americans. The vile terrorists also flew one of the planes into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.

The last plane hijacked on that somber morning was United Airlines Flight 93, which was going to be flown into the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. However, courageous American heroes on this flight learned about the attacks in mid-air and decided to fight back. They ultimately diverted the plane from reaching the Capitol building and crashed it into a rural field in Pennsylvania.

This morning, twenty-five years ago, the evil Islamic terrorist attacks against our great nation left nearly 3,000 Americans dead. May our remembrance of 9/11 today remind us that we, as a nation, have real enemies, and may it motivate us to pray daily to Almighty God for the protection of our nation.

LET US PRAY…

Father, may those who lost loved ones and friends in the deadly 9/11 attacks twenty-five years ago today feel Your presence, care, and love. Lord, please protect America from those around the world who wish to do great harm to our nation. Father, please give our President, his Administration, and our military the wisdom and understanding they need to keep our nation safe from those who desire to bring us harm. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
