It has been an encouraging few months for Kentucky families, and I wanted to start this issue by saying thank you. Thank you for standing with The Family Foundation as we contended for biblical truth in the policy and legal arenas, as well as the culture. A few highlights from this quarter, covered in more detail inside:
- The U.S. Supreme Court handed down two major victories — upholding Save Women’s Sports Laws like Kentucky’s SB 83 and protecting Christian counselors’ free speech.
- HB 4, criminalizing the grooming of children, is already helping protect kids in Kentucky.
- Family Foundation Action released its 2026 Legislative Scorecard, and May’s primary sent several pro-family allies — including former TFF staffer Cole Cuzick — toward seats in the General Assembly.
Each of these is a sign the tide is turning. But the biggest opportunity of the year — and perhaps of the last several decades — for reaching the next generation is one we’re especially excited to share: the launch of the Kentucky Christian Education Network (KY CEN).
Thanks to the new federal Education Freedom Tax Credit and Kentucky’s decision to opt-in through HB 1, Kentuckians will soon be able to redirect $1,700 of their federal taxes into scholarships for Christian education, at no net cost to the donor (click here for a full FAQ). The Family Foundation has launched KY CEN as the vehicle to make that happen — our mission is to help double the number of Kentucky families that have access to a Christian education as we serve and advocate for Christian schools across the Commonwealth.
For the first time, Kentucky families and donors have a powerful new way to make a Gospel-centered education accessible to far more households — and to raise up a generation that knows and loves Him. We believe this is one of the most significant openings for the Great Commission that Christians in Kentucky have ever been given.
In addition to equipping schools to take full advantage of the tax credit, KY CEN is committed to advocating in Frankfort to defend the religious freedom of Christian schools to operate according to their biblical beliefs, support parents’ right to direct their children’s education, and champion educational freedom. With a daily presence in the Kentucky Capitol, KY CEN will be your partner in expanding and protecting Christian education across Kentucky.
