Let Us Pray

Veterans' Day (November 11, 2021)

“The greatest among you will be your servant.” – Matthew 23:11

The wisdom of our Lord Jesus Christ often turns societal norms upside down, both in Jesus’ day and in ours. His answer to how one can become great is no exception.

Jesus did not teach that greatness comes from one’s prestige, power, or wealth. Rather, Jesus taught that greatness comes from serving, both God and one’s fellow man.

Today is a sacred day for Americans, as our nation sets aside this specific day to honor all U.S. military veterans for their courageous service and sacrifice for our country. This day also honors the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” of 1918 that brought an end to World War 1.

It is because of the selfless service that our veterans have given to our nation that we experience the wonderful blessings of freedom in the greatest nation on earth.

LET US PRAY . . .
Father, we thank You, for all the veterans who have faithfully served our great nation. Lord, may you bless each veteran in a wonderful and powerful way. Father, we thank You, for the sacrifice of the families of these veterans as well and ask that You also immensely bless them. Thank You, Lord, for those who are serving today, standing ready to defend and protect our freedom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
