U.S. Navy Names Ship After Gay Rights Leader (November 9, 2021)

“Reject every kind of evil.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:22

Recently, the U.S. Navy launched a new ship that is named after Harvey Milk, a 1950’s diving officer, and Lieutenant in the United States Navy. The newly launched ship is named the “USNS Harvey Milk.”

Why is it that the U.S. Navy is naming this ship after Milk you might ask? Is it because of an incredible act of valor during his time in the service? No. Is it because of his dedication to the U.S. Navy and America? No.

The new ship bears the name of Harvey Milk because of his sexuality and his activism for gay rights. After being released from the service in 1955 he became one of America’s first openly gay politicians.

Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro attended the christening service and said, “Ship names are important because they express what we value as a Navy and as a nation and communicate those values around the globe in every port of call.”

The Navy Secretary should understand that this action does not represent the Biblical values that many military men and women hold to, nor the values of many Bible-believing Americans today. This is a very serious situation, as leaders in the U.S. Navy and high-ranking politicians are using the military to advance the LGBTQ+ agenda. The United States military should never be used for political stunts such as these.

LET US PRAY . . .
Father, help all our military and political leaders to understand that the only values we should be advocating for are Your values. Lord, help our nation to comprehend that advancing principles that go against Your Word is not only sinful but also dangerous for the stability of our nation. Father, may our nation only celebrate the issues that You promote, and immediately stop condoning the issues You call sin. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
