On November 3, the 2026 midterm elections will be held, and the stakes could not be higher. Voters will decide which political party will take control of Congress, important races for governor, and the outcomes of other vitally important state legislative and local races. Voters in Virginia, Nevada, and Idaho will also decide ballot measures that seek to enshrine abortion in their state constitutions.
In Virginia, abortion is legal and is almost totally unrestricted, as an abortion can take place at any time until birth. This is still not far enough for abortion activists. Now, the Commonwealth will vote on a disturbing and extreme constitutional amendment that seeks to make abortion a “fundamental right.” If the abortion amendment, Amendment 1, receives a favorable vote, a “reproductive-freedom provision” will become part of the Virginia Constitution.
In Nevada, abortion is legal up to the 24th week of pregnancy. The state will vote on “The Right to Abortion Initiative,” or Question 6, which will make it more difficult to overturn abortion access, requiring voter approval of any new abortion restriction. Effectively, the ballot measure would make it a constitutional right to abortion in Nevada.
Idaho currently has one of the strictest abortion bans in the nation. Abortion activists, however, have created a ballot initiative called the “Reproductive Freedom and Privacy Act,” or Proposition 1, designed to create a right to abortion before a baby is considered viable.
No matter how it is couched, beneath all the deceptive arguments and slogans used by the culture of death, the reality is that these three states will be voting on constitutional amendments that seeks to enshrine murder through abortion as a right in their state’s constitution. Let us join in praying for the citizens of these three states, especially Christians, to vote down these pro-death measures to protect the precious right to life that belongs to every preborn baby created in the image of God.

Father, please empower the voters in the states of Virginia, Nevada, and Idaho to reject these pro-abortion measures on the ballot this November. Lord, may Your people rise up and defend human life from the murderous and wicked act of abortion. Father, may Your people this November all across the nation cast votes that honor You.In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
