The Super Bowl Brings Record-Breaking Numbers

Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.” – Proverbs 13:11

On Sunday night, the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the San Fransisco 49ers in the Super Bowl which ended in an overtime thriller. In the fifty-eight-year history of the big game, this one had record-breaking numbers associated with it.

More people tuned in to watch this Super Bowl than any other one in the past with a viewing audience of 115 million. The viewing audience was not the only record-breaking statistic associated with the Super Bowl this year.

According to a survey published by the American Gaming Association, an historic 67.8 million people gambled 23.1 billion dollars on the game’s outcome. These numbers shatter the previous record that was set just one year ago where 50.4 million people gambled 16 billion on the outcome of the 2023 Super Bowl.

The number of people who gambled on this year’s Super Bowl rose 44 percent from last year’s big game. It is nothing short of a sad reality, that more than one out of every four Americans gambled their hard-earned money on this year’s Super Bowl.

LET US PRAY…

Father, please open our nation’s eyes to Your wisdom so that they may see gambling as a waste of our resources that ultimately You have provided for us. Lord, empower Your people to be effective advocates that help others to see the dangers associated with gambling. Father, may our nation truly see the addictive and harmful realities that gambling bring. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
