On May 1st, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit correctly sided with Louisiana in its lengthy legal battle against the abortion industry. The decision upheld Louisiana’s law blocking the trafficking of the abortion pill, Mifepristone. This deadly drug is responsible for more than two-thirds of abortions nationwide.

The drug also causes great harm to the women who have taken it. The FDA’s own data reveals that, “thousands of women, and as many as hundreds of thousands, have experienced serious adverse effects as a result of taking the drug, and required surgery or emergency care to treat those effects.”

The ruling came after Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill legally challenged the Food and Drug Administration’s 2023 rules, put in place under the Biden Administration, which allowed Mifepristone to be prescribed online and dispensed through the mail. Louisiana’s challenge rightly argued that mail-order delivery of the abortion drug undermines state pro-life laws and puts women in danger.

Sadly, on Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court temporarily restored wide-ranging access to the abortion death drug. The ruling came after the abortion and pharmaceutical industry pleaded with the High Court to intervene to prevent “regulatory chaos.”

The temporary order will remain in effect through May 11th as all nine justices will evaluate whether or not to keep in place the Fifth Circuit’s ruling or take up the case. The Supreme Court must get this one right and uphold the lower court’s ruling that protects pro-life state laws. The lives of pre-born children and women are at stake.

LET US PRAY…

Father, please convict each of the Supreme Court justices to rule rightly in this case and uphold the Fifth Circuit’s ruling to block the mail order dispensing of the abortion death drug. Lord, we praise You for the Fifth Circuit’s right ruling on this issue. Father, strengthen us to be faithful and effective advocates for the pre-born. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
