Yesterday, the U.S. Supreme Court delivered a massive win for female athletes. It ruled, 6-3, in favor of West Virginia’s and Idaho’s “Save Women’s Sports” laws. These state laws protect women’s and girls’ sports from being infiltrated by men who identify as women.
The High Court concluded that laws banning men from competing in women’s sports do not violate Title IX or the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. States may prohibit men from competing in women’s sports. However, this ruling doesn’t mean they have to. States like California, sadly, are still currently allowing confused men to compete against women.
Despite this, the Supreme Court did take a significant step in rejecting transgender ideology. The Court upheld sanity, reinforced basic common sense, and provided safety and fairness for female athletes. This is a huge victory for the truth that men do not belong in women’s sports. As Justice Thomas explained in his concurrence, “A man does not have a legal right to compete against women just because he believes that he is a woman.”
This ruling ensures SB 83 in Kentucky, which The Family Foundation supported and was passed into law by the General Assembly in 2022, and the laws in 26 other states continue protecting fairness in women’s sports. Praise be to God that in this monumental ruling, truth won. The brave women athletes who fought to have their dignity protected from the injustices of radical transgender ideology have been vindicated.
LET US PRAY…
Father, we praise You for this historic, right, and good ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court to protect fairness in women’s sports. Lord, may the 23 states that have yet to pass Save Women’s Sports laws pass such laws soon. Father, may this be the beginning of the end of the lunacy of transgender ideology. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
