Let Us Pray: Supreme Court Allows Trump’s Military Transgender Ban to Begin

“For he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain.” – Romans 13:4

On January 27, 2025, President Trump signed an important executive order to strengthen the American military, which according to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will help to “restore the warrior ethos at the DOD.” The executive order banned “transgender” troops from military service and stopped the use of “preferred pronouns” in all military branches.

The order read, “Consistent with the military mission and longstanding DoD policy, expressing a false ‘gender identity’ divergent from an individual’s sex cannot satisfy the rigorous standards necessary for military service.” On February 26th, Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of Defense, carried out the order by releasing a directive banning “transgender” military members.

Almost immediately, lawsuits were filed to block the ban from taking effect. Unfortunately, on March 27th, U.S. District Judge Benjamin Settle of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington issued an injunction which stopped the policy from taking effect. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals then declined to stay Judge Settle’s order and at that point the U.S. Department of Justice appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court.

Thankfully, just days ago, the United States Supreme Court ruled that the Trump Administration can enforce the military transgender ban while lawsuits against it continue in federal courts. This is a massive victory for our nation, as now our military can focus once more on being war-ready and not on DEI or gender ideology.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You for this transgender ban that President Trump has put in place to keep our troops focused on readiness to protect our beloved nation. Lord, we praise You for this righteous ruling by the Supreme Court to allow the ban to take effect. Father, please bless our military members as they serve our wonderful nation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
