State Laws Protecting Kids from Experimental Transition Procedures Targeted

“Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another.” – Zechariah 7:9

Twenty states across the nation have now enacted laws, like Kentucky’s Senate Bill 150, that protect children from dangerous experimental transition procedures. These immensely important laws shelter confused and vulnerable children from receiving life-altering transition procedures such as puberty blockers, cross-sex hormone therapy, and surgical mutilation.

Unfortunately, some of these state laws have been targeted, including Senate Bill 150 here in Kentucky. On June 28th, a federal judge in Louisville, U.S. District Judge David Hale, agreed with the ACLU and the National Center for Lesbian Rights by issuing an injunction on Senate Bill 150 on the day before it was to take effect.

Thankfully, Attorney General Daniel Cameron has acted to defend Senate Bill 150 in his filing of an emergency motion challenging the decision that halts parts of Senate Bill 150.

Our neighboring state of Tennessee, which also passed a law protecting children from experimental transition procedures, had a judge block the law from going into effect last month as well. Thankfully, however, on Saturday, the Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in a 2-1 ruling granted an emergency appeal from Tennessee temporarily allowing the law to stay in effect while the law continues to be litigated.

In Kentucky, we have great reason to be optimistic about the end result of the court process for Senate Bill 150. This decision by the Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Tennessee’s law bodes well for Kentucky’s law as it is the same court that will determine the outcome of Senate Bill 150.

LET US PRAY…

Father, thank You for Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s willingness and courage to defend Senate Bill 150. Lord, empower the Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to rule rightly and to allow the totality of Senate Bill 150 to go into effect here in Kentucky. Father, may Senate Bill 150 truly protect confused and vulnerable kids from dangerous experimental transition procedures. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
