Let Us Pray

Special Election Day in Kentucky (November 2, 2021)

“Choose wise and discerning and experienced men from your tribes, and I will appoint them as your heads.’”
– Deuteronomy 1:13

Today, three special elections will be held in the Commonwealth to fill vacancies within the Kentucky General Assembly.

Kentucky State Senator Tom Buford (R) died unexpectedly in early July, leaving Senate District 22 vacant. (District includes Garrard, Jessamine, Mercer, Washington, and a portion of Fayette counties.)

Kentucky Representative John “Bam” Carney (R) also created a vacancy in July, when he died. He represented Adair and Taylor counties in House District 51.

Jackson County, along with portions of Laurel and Madison, will fill House District 89. It became vacant when Representative Robert Goforth (R) resigned.

Regardless of where we live in the Commonwealth, those elected today will impact us all.

LET US PRAY . . .
Father, we know that elections like this have come down to a handful of votes or even a single voter during the last few years… may Your people turn out to vote today and do so based on the principles You ask us to live by. May wise, discerning, and experienced members of our community be selected to represent us with God-honoring public policy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
