Let Us Pray

“Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.”
– 1 Corinthians 6:18

In one of the 2022 Gallop Poll Social Series studies, the focus was set on the percentage of Americans who self-identify as LGBTQ+. To put it mildly, the findings were nothing short of sobering and disturbing.

The poll revealed that U.S. adults who identify as anything other than heterosexual such as gay, lesbian, transgender, etc., have increased substantially to 7.1%. A decade ago, in 2012, Gallop in this poll series first conducted research to see what percentage of Americans identified as LGBTQ+, now just ten years later in 2022, the number of Americans who identify as LGBTQ+ has astonishingly doubled.

In the last two years alone, since 2020, U.S. adults who identify as LGBTQ+ is up 5.6%. Perturbingly, one in every five adults in Generation Z identifies as LGBTQ+. Make no mistake about it, here in the United States we are experiencing a moral unraveling where many consider there to be no objective standards for morality, and thus, all things pertaining to human sexuality are viewed as permissible.

These sobering statistics must propel us forward as believers in the Lord to instill Biblical truth in our children and grandchildren, and, furthermore, to continue speaking the truth in all facets of life including the public square.

LET US PRAY…
Father, may our nation as a collective whole repent from the immorality that is running rampant and return to Your truth about human sexuality. Lord, empower Your people to remain bold in our proclamation of Your truth about marriage, family, and life. Father, help parents across our country to teach faithfully Your truth to their children so that they may live a life pleasing to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
