Senate Bill 150 Challenged by the ACLU

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” – Romans 12:21

One of the mountaintop moments of the 2023 Kentucky General Assembly was the final passage of Senate Bill 150. This immensely important legislative measure ensures commonsense protections for Kentucky’s children and parents.

One key facet of Senate Bill 150 is that it protects Kentucky’s children from the devastating use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones in dangerous experimental “transition” procedures. Unfortunately, this part of the bill has been recently targeted and challenged by some who are advocating for transgender ideology.

On May 3, 2023, the ACLU filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky in an attempt to halt the protections for children that are found in Senate Bill 150. The ACLU lawsuit erroneously argues that somehow these protections for children in Senate Bill 150 go against the U.S. Constitution.

Each and every child is formed in his or her mother’s womb without mistake by God Himself in His own Almighty image for a wonderful purpose. Not only do these experimental “transition” procedures cause harm to children, which certainly is not healthcare, it ultimately diminishes and destroys the unique and perfect way that one has been created by God. Senate Bill 150 must be ferociously defended as confused and vulnerable children need to be protected from dangerous and harmful experimental “transition” procedures.

LET US PRAY…
Father, we praise You for the final passage of Senate Bill 150 during this year’s legislative session. Lord, may this attempt to challenge the protections that Senate Bill 150 provides for children in our Commonwealth fail. Father, help our state collectively in every avenue possible to honor You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
