Let Us Pray

Pro-Life Month (January 17, 2022)

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
– Jeremiah 1:5

This month, January, is “pro-life month” and is set aside to highlight the work of the pro-life movement. What a great way to begin 2022, by celebrating, standing, and defending the dignity of human life. The pro-life momentum is strong right now as it rides the massive pro-life waves of 2021. Last year, the pro-life movement saw historic gains in our fight to protect and respect all human life.

In 2021, there were more restrictions put on abortion from state pro-life laws than in any other year since the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973. A record, 106 pro-life laws, were passed in 2021 by nineteen states.

Also in 2021, The Texas Heartbeat Law was passed. This is the strongest pro-life law to go into effect since the catastrophic Roe v. Wade decision. Every single baby in Texas that has a detectable heartbeat, which is around five to six weeks gestation, is now protected by law from being murdered through abortion.

Furthermore, last year, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments for the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health which provides the best opportunity to overturn Roe and remove the egregious stain abortion has left on America.

As we are in the pro-life month of 2022, let us resolve to make this year even more of a pro-life year than 2021 was. An integral part of seeing this happen will be our Commonwealth solidifying that we are one of most pro-life states in America by enacting Kentucky’s “Yes for Life” Constitutional Amendment which will be on the ballot in November of this year. This will also happen by the Kentucky General Assembly passing this session the “Humanity in Healthcare Act,” which is a powerful pro-life omnibus bill.

LET US PRAY . . .
Father, please empower the U.S. Supreme Court Justices to courageously uphold the Mississippi pro-life law being considered in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health case. Father, empower Kentuckians to cast a vote for righteousness and enact the Yes for Life Amendment in November. Lord, strengthen Kentucky legislators to pass the “Humanity in Healthcare Act.” May 2022 be the year that Roe is completely overturned. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
