Let Us Pray

Let Us Pray: Pray for Texas

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13

Over the weekend, multiple counties in central Texas were absolutely ravaged by devastating flash floods. After extremely heavy rainfall, the Guadalupe River rose rapidly on Friday morning to the height of a two-story building, causing the deadly situation.

Deaths have been reported throughout central Texas, including in Kerr County, Travis County, Williamson County, Burnet County, and Tom Green County. Heartbreakingly, the devastating flash floods have left at least 104 people dead, and more are still missing.

The floods slammed Kerr County the hardest where at least 84 people have been killed, 28 of them children. Sadly, Camp Mystic, which is a private Christian summer camp for girls located along the Guadalupe River in Kerr County, was hit hard by the flooding killing 27 campers and counselors.

A few days ago, due to the gravity of this situation, President Trump signed a major disaster declaration for Kerr County, Texas. Let us fervently pray for Texas as there are ongoing rescue missions taking place.

LET US PRAY…

Father, please comfort those who are mourning the loss of their loved ones and friends due to the devastating floods in Texas. Lord, strengthen those who are serving on rescue missions and empower them to be effective and productive. Father, help us to always look to You during tragedy and trust in You even when we do not understand the situations that are taking place around us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
