Let Us Pray

Praise be to God, Great Things He Has Done (March 31, 2022)

“Sing to the LORD, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.” – Isaiah 12:5

Today begins the veto period of the 2022 legislative session here in Kentucky. As we look back over this session thus far, we can say with the prophet Isaiah, “Sing to the LORD, for he has done glorious things” during this General Assembly. The Lord allowed The Family Foundation to play a pivotal role in the passing of several pieces of God-honoring legislation.

This session, Senate Bill 83, the “Save Women’s Sports Act” was passed which protects women’s sports here in Kentucky from being destroyed by the transgender movement that seeks to allow biological males to compete in female athletics. This bill, simply put, ensures female athletes in the Commonwealth that they will be allowed to compete on a level playing field.

Also, House Bill 43, the “Church is Essential Act” was passed and which protects the fundamental human right of Kentuckians to worship and exercise their faith, especially during times of crises and emergencies. This bill ensures that churches are not discriminated against during times of emergencies.

Furthermore, House Bill 3, the “Humanity in Healthcare Act” was passed in the last couple of days. This pro-life omnibus bill defends and protects the dignity of human life within the medical profession. This piece of legislation encompasses many powerful pro-life provisions.

These three important bills now sit on the Governor’s desk where we pray, that he will do what is right and sign them into law. Although there were other pieces of God-honoring legislation that were not ultimately passed, we praise God for seeing fit to allow The Family Foundation to play a crucial role in cultivating a state where God is honored.

LET US PRAY…

Father, thank You, for using Your people to bring about a state where You are honored through public policy that glorifies You. Lord, may the Governor see the righteousness in these bills and not veto them. Lord, may You continue to empower us to be the salt and light You desire us to be here in Kentucky. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
