Massachusetts Takes Child Because Parents Refuse to Affirm Her Transgender Identity

Joseph and Arlene Kutzko, devout Catholic parents, had their daughter taken away from them by the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) in December of 2024. Unbelievably, DCF removed Sophie from her parents’ care because they refused to affirm a lie and address their daughter as a transgender boy.

At age 15, Sophie started struggling with her biological makeup and was soon ushered into pro-LGBTQ counseling sessions at Algonquin Regional High School with the school counselor. These counseling sessions happened without any knowledge or consent from Sophie’s parents.

The sessions were intended to help Sophie “socially transition” to a boy while the parents were purposefully kept in the dark. In fact, the parents were told that Sophie was staying after school to receive extra help in math. The counseling that Sophie received was in direct opposition to the views of her and her parents’ Catholic faith.

Massachusetts, however, is claiming that Sophie was removed from the care of her parents due to “child abuse.” It is noteworthy that there has been no formal finding of parental unfitness and that the DCF has retained custody without terminating the parental rights of the Kutzko’s.

Under the state’s care, Sophie has been placed in a boys dormitory, has not been allowed to attend Sunday Mass, and has been prescribed birth control and psychiatric medications. Since January of 2025, there has been no contact between Sophie and her parents due to the DCF having a permanent restraining order barring the parents from seeing Sophie.

Over the last 19-plus months, the Kutzko’s have been in a legal fight trying to regain custody of their now 17-year-old daughter and stop the state from “medically transitioning” her by chemically mutilating her with testosterone.

The fact that the Massachusetts government is willing to remove children from their parents’ homes if the parents refuse to support transgender delusions, shows us that the trans issue is far from over. Hopefully, the court will correct this evil.

LET US PRAY…

Father, please strengthen Joseph and Arlene Kutzko as they go through this very difficult case to regain custody of their child and protect her from the dangers of medical transition procedures. Lord, please empower the court to get this one right and protect the Kutzko’s parental rights. Father, may our nation always freely allow parents to raise their children in Your ways. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
