“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31
At the end of last week, the United States Supreme Court released its opinions on three major cases that The Family Foundation has been involved in by joining amicus “friend of the court” briefs. These three immensely important cases were: Medina v Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, Mahmoud v Taylor, and Free Speech Coalition v Paxton. The Supreme Court ruled in our favor in all three of these cases, delivering significant victories for life, kids, and parental rights.
The Court ruled 6-3 in the case of Free Speech Coalition v Paxton to allow states to protect minors from online pornography by requiring adult age verification before access to an adult website is granted. Due to this ruling, House Bill 278 in Kentucky, which is an age verification law that protects kids from online pornography, will remain in full effect.
In the case of Mahmoud v Taylor, the High Court ruled in a 6-3 decision that government schools must give parental notice and an option for parents to opt out their children from required LGBT content. This ruling makes clear that parents have the right to direct the upbringing of their children, not the government.
In another 6-3 decision, the Court ruled in Medina v Planned Parenthood South Atlantic that states do not have to include Planned Parenthood in their Medicaid programs. This ruling allows other states to follow the lead of South Carolina to halt taxpayers’ money from going to abortion organizations. Praise be to God, for these immensely important God-honoring victories that the Supreme Court has delivered.
LET US PRAY…
Father, we praise You for all three of these cases that were ruled on favorably by the Supreme Court as they are big wins for life, kids, and parental rights. Lord, we thank You for the privilege of advocating for Your truth in these cases and more. Father, please empower each member of the Supreme Court to always seek Your wisdom in any decision that is made. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
