Major Abortion Case at the U.S. Supreme Court

“And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may go well with you, and that you may go in and take possession of the good land that the Lord swore to give to your fathers.” – Deuteronomy 6:18

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The FDA is required by federal law to guarantee the safety and effectiveness of drugs.

However, when it comes to abortion drugs the FDA has completely failed to ensure that they are “safe and effective” for women. In fact, the FDA has illegally withdrawn the already small number of safety measures that it had originally placed on abortion drugs.

When pressed on this issue, the FDA actually acknowledged the studies used on the abortion drugs were “not adequate on their own to establish the safety of… dispensing mifepristone by mail.” The bottom line is this, the FDA rushed to approve the abortion drugs before it performed “adequate testing” to demonstrate that the drug was safe for use “under the conditions… in the proposed labeling.”

The FDA has revealed its true colors. The sad reality is, the FDA is more concerned about the promotion of abortion than the harm these drugs are causing women, let alone the children who are being terminated in the womb due to these drugs. Thankfully, Alliance Defending Freedom is standing up for women and challenging the reckless actions of the FDA at the U.S. Supreme Court where oral arguments will be heard tomorrow. The Family Foundation, along with our state family policy allies, filed a “friend of the court” legal brief in the case.

LET US PRAY…

Father, please empower the attorneys for Alliance Defending Freedom as they present their oral arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court tomorrow. Lord, may the U.S. Supreme Court rule rightly in this case. Father, may the FDA change course on these abortion drugs and protect women from the horrors the drugs bring. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
