In a major disappointment, the Trump administration still has not repealed the Biden-era guidelines for the abortion death pill, Mifepristone. Because of these guidelines, a woman does not even have to see a doctor to be prescribed Mifepristone. Even worse men can obtain these death pills by giving a woman’s name. They don’t need to show any proof of identity. This has led to real-life horror stories for women.
The most recent of these horror stories is a seventeen-year-old mother from Louisiana whose father, Jamelle Kelly, poisoned her using Mifepristone in an attempt to murder his own grandchild. Thankfully, the plan failed. The teenage mother was rushed to the emergency room, where she had a C-section to save her baby’s life. Both the mother and baby miraculously survived this evil murder plan. The grandfather has since been arrested.
In the state of Louisiana, chemical abortions are illegal. This means that the abortion pills were trafficked across state lines to Kelly, breaking the state’s laws. This is just another horror story that will be added to a growing list of men obtaining Mifepristone in order to poison their girlfriends, wives, and even daughters.
Four years ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision. This historic ruling overturned the horrendous 1973 decision of Roe v. Wade that “legalized” abortion nationwide. Sadly, due to the prevalence of the abortion death pill, more babies are being killed now than under Roe. Even here in Kentucky where, the abortion death pill is illegal. Yet just like in Louisiana, these death pills are being trafficked into our state. This is why the Trump Administration needs to take action.
We praise God that Roe no longer rules and that major ground has been gained in the fight for life. But stories like this one remind us that our work to protect all human life from the abortion industry is far from over.

Father, we praise You that Roe is no longer the law of the land here in the United States. Lord, empower Your people to effectively pass laws at the state and national level to end chemical abortion as a whole throughout our nation. Father, empower the Trump administration to step in and restore safety protocols for Mifepristone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
