Legislative Session Enters Crunch Time

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” – Micah 6:8

The 2024 Kentucky Legislative Session is officially at the point where it has entered “crunch time.” There are just a mere two days left, today and Monday, for the Kentucky General Assembly to act, override the Governor’s vetoes, and pass God-honoring legislation.

Monday is Sine Die, as it is the 60th and final day of this year’s Legislative Session. These two days are important, as they still allow for a window of opportunity for the General Assembly to fulfill its God-given task of promoting good in our Commonwealth.

Kentucky legislators need to view these last two days as a highly important opportunity to please the Lord and fulfill what He requires of them. Namely, that is, to do good, to do justice, and to love kindness.

Without a doubt, this Kentucky legislative session has brought with it many ups and downs, many challenges and victories, and many difficulties and joys. What is important now, however, is that in this crunch-time moment, the 2024 Kentucky legislative session concludes by bringing glory to God with its actions.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You for the freedom and responsibility we have to advocate for God-honoring laws and policies during the Kentucky legislative session. Lord, remind each and every legislator that they are ultimately responsible to You for every decision they make. Father, please empower the Kentucky Legislature to finish this session by bringing You glory with its actions. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
