In Louisville, KY, since 1981, the EMW Women’s Surgical Center had been a prominent abortion mill in Kentucky. Inside the walls of that death-dealing building thousands upon thousands of preborn children were murdered in the womb. EMW has claimed that it was responsible for the killing of over 100,000 preborn children during its time of operation.
EMW worked hard to entice vulnerable women from a six-state region to end the lives of their preborn children. Thankfully, EMW’s murderous work was brought to an end on June 24, 2022, when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. This put Kentucky’s pro-life trigger law into effect and made abortion illegal in the state.
In 2023, one year after the pro-life trigger law went into effect, EMW announced that it was selling its facilities and going out of business because it was not able to perform any abortions. In November of 2024, the property was purchased by Zyyo, a New York City real estate development company, which stated it was going to completely demolish the facility to build a brand new $175 million hotel on the property.
Praise be to God that days ago, Zyyo made good on its promise. The EMW building has been reduced to nothing but rubble. That place of horror has been permanently thrown into the trash bin of history.
This is an encouraging reminder that the patient prayers and actions of faithful Christians are never in vain. It took over forty years of faithful praying and pro-life advocacy to see this day, but praise God this prominent death mill no longer exists. It must also be a reminder that the battle to protect every preborn image bearer of God must continue as the abortion death pill continues to proliferate across our Commonwealth.

Father, we praise You that the EMW Women’s Surgical Center, which ended the lives of over 100,000 preborn children, is now completely demolished. Lord, empower us to always advocate for Your truth, as we know it is never in vain. Father, strengthen us to continuously press forward in our defense of human life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
