God’s Ways Bring Satisfaction to Our Lives

“He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.” – Proverbs 18:22

Gallup just released a recent study that revealed that unfortunately less than half of Americans are generally satisfied with their personal lives. There is one group, however, where more than half of them claim to be very satisfied with their personal lives, and they are married couples.

The exact numbers reveal that 47% of Americans claim to be generally satisfied with their personal lives, while 57% of married couples claim to be very satisfied generally in life. This study should not be understood to claim that only through marriage can one find happiness as many single people have found and can experience fulfillment in life.

It must be noted, however, that there seems to be a connection with the record low number of young Americans getting married and with the increase of Americans not feeling satisfied generally in life. This survey is evidence of what the Scriptures teach that marriage is good and brings satisfaction to our lives.

The underlying Biblical truth that is present in this Gallup survey is that God’s ways bring satisfaction to our lives. If we truly desire to live a life of fulfillment and satisfaction it means that we must come under the Lordship of Christ and live our lives according to His truth.

LET US PRAY…

Father, thank You for the gift of marriage and the joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment it brings. Lord, may our nation collectively understand that aligning our lives with Your Word brings the greatest extent of satisfaction in our lives. Father, help us to be faithful advocates for Your truth in our culture. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
