Enormous Win for Parents in The Sunshine State (March 30, 2022)

“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.” – Proverbs 1:8

Just days ago, parents in The Sunshine State of Florida celebrated an enormous win as Gov. DeSantis signed the “Parental Rights in Education Act” into law. Gov. DeSantis exhibited great courage and strength as he stood strong and fought back against the false narratives that were being pushed on him and those who supported this bill by the White House and others nationally.

The left purposefully misrepresented this legislation as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. By reading the bill, one can clearly see that there is no mention whatsoever of “don’t say gay” or of this type of thinking in the bill at all. This bill simply states that young children in the public school system will not be exposed to classroom teachings or discussions pertaining to sexual orientation and gender identity.

This is a massive victory for parents in Florida because parental authority will now be protected, and parents will fully be allowed to know what their children are being taught. This bill gives parents in Florida the assurance that they can send their young children to school without the fear that their children will have LGBTQ+ ideologies shoved down their throats.

This year the Kentucky legislature had the opportunity to pass the “Parents’ Rights Protection Act.” This bill would protect from any unlawful violation of parents’ rights in determining and making decisions regarding the rearing of their child or children. Also, the bill properly balanced fundamental parental rights with the government’s compelling interest in preventing child abuse and neglect.

Unfortunately, although the bill was passed in the Kentucky Senate, it was never taken up in the Kentucky House.

LET US PRAY…

Father, thank You, for this incredible victory for parental rights in Florida and for the courage of Gov. DeSantis. Lord, we praise You, that these young children in Florida will not be subjected to these LGBTQ+ ideologies that You classify as sinful. Father, please empower the Kentucky legislature in the session ahead to act and protect parental rights here in the Commonwealth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
