In September 2023, California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a lawsuit against Heartbeat International and RealOptions. These are pro-life pregnancy center ministries who help women choose life, including by providing the abortion pill reversal regimen that has saved thousands of babies from the abortion death pill.
Bonta sued the Christian groups, alleging that they use “fraudulent and misleading claims to advertise abortion pill reversal.” The lawsuit claims its false advertisement to say the abortion reversal pill works. However, the numerous babies who have survived seem to prove that the pill does in fact work. The lawsuit also claims the groups give this pill without informing women of the severe risks of it. The abortion reversal pill is a high dose of progesterone, a hormone that women naturally produce.
Despite California’s years-long unfounded attacks on Heartbeat International and RealOptions, the groups continue to faithfully fulfill their mission of helping women save their unborn children.
The evidence stage in the case recently concluded. Both sides presented their evidence over a six-week period of testimony in Alameda County Superior Court.
There is much concern surrounding the medical experts that Bonta used, as they were clearly pro-abortion. One of the doctors even admitted in court to performing over 5,000 abortions. Closing arguments for this case will be on September 17th, and then the judge will have a ninety-day period to render a ruling.
This case clearly shows, once again, that the abortion lobby is not “pro-choice,” but instead is pro-death. If a woman wants to kill her baby up until the moment of birth, they are all for it. But if a mother realizes she’s made a mistake and wants to save her baby, these same people will fight with everything they’ve got to take her choice away and ensure the baby is murdered.

Father, please empower the attorneys who are representing Heartbeat International and RealOptions to give an effective and conclusive closing argument. Lord, please give the judge Your wisdom to rule rightly in this case on behalf of Heartbeat International and RealOptions. Father, please strengthen Heartbeat International and RealOptions to continue pressing forward in their righteous mission of helping mothers save their unborn children from the abortion drug. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
