Biden's Supreme Court Nominee Will Not Define the Word "Woman" (March 25, 2022)

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” – Genesis 1:27

Over the last few days, the nation has centered its focus on the U.S. Supreme Court’s confirmation hearings for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. These confirmation hearings have paid particular attention to, thus far, Judge Jackson’s history as a judge, her legal outlook, and her judicial philosophy.

However, there has been one exchange between Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Judge Jackson that has stood out above the rest and has left many people concerned about the nominee’s abilities as a judge. In the exchange, Sen. Blackburn asked Judge Jackson a simple question and that was, “can you provide a definition of the word ‘woman’?”

Judge Jackson unbelievably answered, “No, I can’t.” Sen. Blackburn responded, “You can’t?” “Not in this context; I’m not a biologist,” said the judge. It is a frightening thought that Judge Jackson could sit on the highest court in our land where she would be charged with interpreting the U.S. Constitution and enforcing the laws of our nation, but she cannot simply define what a woman is.

Unfortunately, this reveals how entrenched much of America and our leaders are in the worldview of postmodernity. For many on the left, there is no such thing as objective truth and reality when it comes to biological personhood. It is highly concerning that many of our nation’s most powerful leaders such as President Biden, Vice President Harris, Speaker Pelosi, and possibly Judge Jackson if confirmed to the Supreme Court are individuals who refuse to accept the most basic truths about human biology and buy whole-heartedly into the faulty ideology of transgenderism.

Furthermore, one can see the hypocrisy of the left on full display here. Why did President Biden nominate Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court? In large part, because she was a black WOMAN.

Father, may our nation return to Your truth concerning gender and human sexuality. Lord, help the U.S. Senate to courageously reject Judge Jackson’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Father, help us to understand that Your truth stands forever, no matter the subjective opinions of others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
