Let Us Pray

2024 Presidential Race

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” – 1 Timothy 2:1-2

On Monday, the first votes in the 2024 presidential election were cast in the Iowa caucuses. There were around 1,700 precincts across the state where Iowans flooded to, locations such as churches, schools, and union halls to make their voice heard.

The former president and presumptive frontrunner for the Republican nomination, Donald Trump, had a dominating victory in the Iowa caucuses. Trump ended up finishing with 51% of the votes, which is the largest margin of victory ever in the Iowa caucuses.

Former President Donald Trump ended up winning 98 out of 99 Iowa counties on Monday. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis finished in second place and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley finished in third place.

The next stop for the 2024 presidential race will be on Tuesday for the New Hampshire primary. As we move through this intense primary season, and with Election Day just a mere ten months away, we must seek the Lord for guidance and direction in choosing our next President as we continue to pray for our current President Joe Biden.

LET US PRAY…

Father, may Your people wholeheartedly seek Your wisdom and guidance as they select the next president of the United States. Lord, remind us that You are ultimately the One who places those in authority in their position. Father, may we fulfill our Biblical command to pray for our governing leaders even when we do not agree with them. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
