Kentucky Christian Education Network Launches National Campaign on New Federal School Choice Program

Campaign calls on families to “stop settling” for failing public schools and take advantage of historic education freedom opportunity

LEXINGTON, KY – The Kentucky Christian Education Network (KY CEN), a new division of The Family Foundation, is launching a national campaign to promote President Trump’s new Education Freedom Tax Credit and the Christian Education Network Scholarship Granting Organization, known as CEN SGO.

The campaign, titled “Stop Settling, Expect More” begins airing Oct. 1 and runs through the end of the year. The campaign will introduce families across Kentucky and the country to CEN SGO and the new federal Education Freedom Tax Credit, which takes effect January 1, 2027.

“Kentucky families deserve the freedom to choose a high-quality Christian education that aligns with their values. The Education Freedom Tax Credit creates a powerful new pathway to make Christian education more accessible, and KY CEN is proud to lead that effort across the Commonwealth. This is a historic and transformative moment to put a Christian education in reach of more Kentucky families,” said David Walls, Executive Director of The Family Foundation.

CEN SGO was launched in 2026 as a national Scholarship Granting Organization connecting donors, Christian schools, and families with the new federal school choice program.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2027, individuals will be able to contribute up to $1,700 to approved scholarship granting organizations like CEN SGO and receive a dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit. CEN SGO will use those contributions to provide scholarships helping families afford private, Christian education.

Donors in every state will be eligible to contribute and receive the federal tax credit, while scholarship eligibility depends on whether a state participates in the federal program. Kentucky opted in to the program by law thanks to the passage of HB 1, legislation championed by The Family Foundation that was passed by the General Assembly earlier this year.

The campaign builds on a growing national effort by the Christian Education Network (CEN) to expand access to Christian education. KY CEN is part of a coalition of state affiliates—partnering with state family policy councils—working to advocate for the expansion of Christian education, and help students, donors, and schools access the new Education Freedom Tax Credit.

“KY CEN is rooted right here in Kentucky and focused exclusively on serving Kentucky Christian schools. When schools partner with KY CEN, they are joining a statewide movement dedicated to fueling Christian school advocacy and funding Christian school scholarships through CEN SGO. We are committed to growing a network connecting families, Christian schools, donors, and policymakers around a shared vision of expanding Christian education across our Commonwealth,” said Dick Snider, KY CEN’s School Partnership Director.

CEN SGO is designed to help Christian schools and families navigate the federal program and maximize participation, building on the network’s experience serving thousands of families and more than 100 Christian schools in eight states.
