FBI Director Kash Patel and Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche publicly announced that the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has been formally indicted due to the nonprofit’s activity in fraud and deception. The SPLC has been charged by a grand jury in the Middle District of Alabama, which returned an 11-count indictment.

According to the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), the charges include six counts of wire fraud, four counts of bank fraud, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. Furthermore, the DOJ claims that between 2014 and 2023, the SPLC “secretly funneled” donations amounting to over $3 million to at least eight people who were connected to violent extremist groups.

These groups include the Ku Klux Klan, United Klans of America, the Nationalist Socialist Movement, Unite the Right, Aryan Nations affiliated Sadistic Souls Motorcycle Club, and more. These were groups involved in the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville that left one person dead. This event was used by the radical Left to deem President Trump as a racist. The SPLC also saw a significant increase in donations after this event took place.

Many believe the SPLC engaged in this fraud to manufacture more work for themselves since its supposed goal is to fight white supremacy and racism. The SPLC, however, claims it was just paying informants in those groups to learn how to combat these racist organizations. This seems unlikely though. $3 million is quite a lot of money to give to informants. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, at a press conference, said, “To that end, (SPLC) was doing the exact opposite of what it told its donors it was doing – not dismantling extremism but funding it.”

As one of the most influential Left-wing activist groups, the SPLC has played a significant role in stirring up division in our country. In 2012, a man even attempted to commit a mass shooting at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. because the SPLC deemed the Christian organization a hate group for its biblical views on marriage and sexuality. Hopefully, as this case moves forward, the SPLC will finally be held accountable for their actions.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we pray that the SPLC will be held accountable for any fraud and deception they have committed. Lord, we pray for the DOJ and the FBI as they work in this case to bring about justice. Father, please bring unity to our nation and revival to our land. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
