Let Us Pray

“You are the light of the world.” – Matthew 5:14a

In Matthew 5:14, Jesus teaches us that those who follow Him are to be the light of the world. This means that those of us who are believers in Christ are to shine brightly and illuminate His truth to the world.

Being the light of the world definitely refers to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to the lost and dying world around us, but that is not the only thing it means. Being the light of the world goes beyond our primary calling of sharing the saving power of Jesus Christ to the world, as it also refers to us advocating for God’s truth in all sectors of life.

Our mission as the light of the world is to take the light, God’s truth, into all areas of darkness that engulf our culture. One of these realms where the light must penetrate the darkness is in the area of public policy.

Right now, as it stands in our Commonwealth, we must be the Light that we have been called to be by voting for the “Yes for Life” Amendment on November 8th. As believers in Kentucky, we have an unprecedented opportunity this November to dispel grave darkness by being light in ensuring that there is no right to abortion in the Kentucky Constitution.

LET US PRAY…
Father, empower us to take Your light into all facets of our life. Lord, may we be Your light and dispel much darkness in Kentucky this November by voting “Yes for Life.” Father, help us to be Your agents to bring righteous change here in Kentucky. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
