Let Us Pray

“The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:31

As Americans, we are blessed beyond measure to live in a nation defined by freedom. We are free to follow the teachings of our faith, live by the dictates of our conscience, build a life pleasing to God, and much more.

Furthermore, as Americans who live in a constitutional democracy, where we are also free to engage and influence the political, policy, and cultural ream of our nation. In fact, one of the best ways to follow our Biblical command to “love our neighbor” is to use our freedom to influence our country for righteousness.

When American Christians do not use their freedom to engage in the policy and political systems, it, unfortunately, allows a void that is filled by those who desire to advance anti-Biblical measures. Those, in turn, leads a nation to be characterized by values that are antithetical to Biblical Christianity. Thus, abandoning the blessings of God and following a path that ends up having negative consequences on our nation for generations.

American Christians must engage in the policy and political realm of our nation as it is an avenue that allows one to “love their neighbor.” By actively influencing our nation to adopt and live under legislation and policies that are pleasing to God our nation will experience the blessings of God. Our neighbors will experience a great deal of flourishing if we will engage and promote righteousness in our nation.

LET US PRAY…
Father, thank You for the precious freedom we are blessed with as Americans. Lord, empower us to use our freedom to engage and influence our state and nation for You. Father, help us to love our neighbor by promoting righteous laws in our land that will lead to Your blessings on us as a nation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
