Rep. John Blanton & Sen. Alice Kerr

These two Simple Resolutions recognize the important role citizens and the hospitality industry play in preventing and disrupting child sex trafficking. They encourage citizens and agencies to book travel and events at hotels, venues, and travel agencies that are signatories of the Tourism Child-Protection Code of Conduct, the initiative to prevent the sexual exploitation of children.  Fifty-nine percent of all human trafficking victims in Kentucky are children and one of the sex trafficking venues most commonly reported to the National Human Trafficking Hotline is hotels/motels. Hotel employees who have undergone training are more than five times as likely to recognize child sex trafficking and know how to report it.
