Rep. Addia Wuchner
HB 152 would require a person applying for a commercial driver’s license to complete training related to identifying and reporting human trafficking and require commercial driver’s licenses to be issued with a wallet card that outlines the signs of human trafficking and how to report it. (Card includes the National Human Trafficking Hotline number.) Traffickers often transport prostituted children, making it harder for them to seek help or escape. Truck stops are not only convenient stops, but they also provide a place somewhat secluded from public view. At truck stops there are often opportunities to pick up, drop off, or stop for paid sex with prostituted girls. Most of the trucking community wants to stop this evil and this resolution will enable concerned drivers to help combat it.
