On Friday, September 24, 2021, with the Leadership of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her allies, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the most extreme pro-abortion bill in American history. Ironically, the bill’s name is the “Women’s Health Protection Act,” but in actuality, the bill has nothing to do with women’s health and every to do with making abortion on demand.
The vote on this legislation was strictly along party lines with every Democrat voting for the bill except one Democrat, Rep. Cuellar (D-TX), who voted along with all the Republicans against this dangerous bill. This bill was brought to the floor in direct response to the pro-life victory of the Texas Heartbeat Act in an attempt to codify the 1973 abortion decision of Roe v. Wade.
The “Women’s Health Protection Act” will revoke any restriction at all on abortion expanding it to on-demand, it will stop any state from passing new pro-life laws of any kind, and will also ban any state from enforcing the pro-life laws that are already in place.
Furthermore, pro-life Americans will be forced to fund abortions as the Hyde Amendment and other safeguards will be ripped away. The U.S. Senate must take a stand against this very destructive piece of legislation as many Americans will have their lives terminated if allowed to pass.
