The Serious Problem with Celebrating Pride Month

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” – Proverbs 16:18

There are some across our nation who designate this month, June, as a time of celebration for the so-called “Pride Month.” The central focus of those who observe “Pride Month” is to celebrate the LGBTQ+ culture and community.

Events will be held throughout the United States at various locations where those who identify as LGBTQ+, and those who just want to advance the LGBTQ+ agenda, will gather to celebrate LGBTQ+ lifestyles. Make no mistake about it, these “Pride” events are geared to celebrate those who have chosen to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other sexual identifications that are outside of Biblical teaching on human sexuality.

From a Biblical perspective, there is a massive problem with celebrating “Pride Month.” Clearly and simply put, celebrating so-called “Pride Month” is unequivocally and inseparably a celebration of what the Scriptures have defined as sin. A faithful Christian worldview cannot view “Pride Month” in any other way than a month designated by some to celebrate sexual identifications that are condemned by God’s Word.

Celebrating sin is a great offense to Almighty God and is ultimately an offense that He will not tolerate. All throughout the Scriptures it is seen that God brings judgment on nations that actively and happily engage in public sin. Rather, June should be celebrated by our nation as Life Month, as we are about to approach the first anniversary of Roe v. Wade being overturned.

LET US PRAY…
Father, please enlighten those who are actively celebrating “Pride Month” to realize that in actuality they are celebrating sin. Lord, help us as Your people to always speak the truth even when it is not easy. Father, help our nation as a collective whole to understand that Your blessings only follow a nation that honors You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
