Let Us Pray: Texas Restricts Illegal Trafficking of Abortion Drugs

“You shall not murder.” – Exodus 20:13

On September 17, 2025, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed into law House Bill 7, which is the “Woman and Child Protection Act.” This new law is of utmost importance, as Texas outlawed abortion after Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022, but, unfortunately, a multitude of abortions continue to take place throughout the state.

One might ask, with all of Texas’s strong pro-life laws, how is it that so many abortions continue to take place after the murderous practice became illegal a few years ago? It is because the abortion industry illegally traffics abortion drugs across state lines and even international borders into pro-life states.

Women were able to purchase the murderous abortion drugs through the internet and have them sent directly to their place of residence, such as homes, dorm rooms, apartments, etc. House Bill 7 is aimed at combatting this illegal trafficking of abortion drugs by allowing anyone to sue manufacturers, doctors, shipping companies, and pharmaceutical companies who send the abortion pill to a Texan inside state lines.

With this new legislation, preborn children in the Lone Star State now have even more protection against the destruction and devastation that the abortion pill brings. Pro-life states across the nation need to pass similar legislation to guard against the illegal trafficking of abortion drugs in their states, as the abortion industry seems bent on using this game plan to continue abortions in pro-life states.

Last session, Rep. TJ Roberts and Sen. Steve Rawlings introduced similar legislation in Kentucky. Unfortunately, neither of these bills received a committee hearing, killing the bills before there could be any traction on the proposals. Both legislators have committed to reintroducing the bills next session. With the lives of preborn Kentuckians still at risk, we urge legislative leadership in the House and Senate to make this issue a priority in the 2026 General Assembly.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You for the courage of the Texas legislature to pass the Woman and Child Protection Act. Lord, we are thankful that women and children are further protected from the destructive, life-ending abortion pill. Father, may many more states, including Kentucky, pass legislative measures similar to this one. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
