Let Us Pray: Support for Same-Sex Marriage in Decline

“Let marriage be held in honor among all…” – Hebrews 13:4a

One decade ago, the United States Supreme Court egregiously ruled in the case of Obergefell v. Hodges to legalize “same-sex marriage,” striking down state marriage laws across the nation. Since that decision by America’s High Court in 2015, American support grew year after year for same-sex relationships until 2022 when support for same-sex relationships topped out at 71%.

According to new research from Gallop, however, there has been a steady decline in support for same-sex relationships by Americans and the support now sits at 64%. The new report also reveals a similar truth among American conservatives in their support of same-sex relationships.

American conservative’s support for the “moral acceptability of same-sex relationships” reached its high in 2022 as well at 56%. That support has also drastically declined since 2022, and now in 2025 support for same-sex relationships is at a low 38%.

This Gallup report is encouraging as it reveals that Americans are starting to pull support from same-sex relationships as the reality is that homosexual unions are an affront to God and are also what has paved the way for the acceptance of other sexual perversions that have been thrust into the national spotlight today, such as transgenderism. May support for Biblical marriage only increase as that primary union is the foundation of a strong nation that prospers.

LET US PRAY…

Father, forgive our nation as we have devalued marriage, and may one day our land return to Your standard for it. Lord, we praise You that support for same-sex relationships here in America is on the decline. Father, thank You, for Your perfect design and creation of marriage. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
