“Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.” – Psalm 127:3
Recently, the NBC News Decision Desk Poll released a new survey revealing that there is a stark gender divide among Gen Z on multiple fronts. Gen Z males and females, who are American adults between the ages of 18 and 29, were shown in the study to be divided on their social beliefs, mental health, cultural issues, and more.
The study noted that Gen Z is significantly divided when it comes to American politics. There is a 21-point difference between Gen Z males and females when it comes to their approval of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-seven percent of young men approve of the President’s job performance, while only twenty-six percent of young women approve of his performance.
Among the other differences between the Gen Z genders, there was one that is of serious concern from a Biblical worldview. Sadly, Gen Z women ranked having children nearly last on their life priorities lists. Young men, in contrast, put having children as their top life priority, at number one. Gen Z women who supported Kamala Harris in the 2024 Presidential campaign ranked priorities like a career, self-fulfillment, financial independence, and more above having children.
This is a sad reality, as the Bible teaches that getting married, having children, and having a family is a blessing that no monetary or material thing can offer. “Children are a heritage from the Lord,” and a treasure that no career or net worth status can come close to rivaling. Simply put, children are the greatest legacy that one can ever leave.
LET US PRAY…
Father, please help younger women understand the unmatched blessing it is to get married, have children, and experience the joy of family. Lord, may those who are parents raise their children under the teachings of Your word, so that they may adhere to the faith and proclaim the Gospel to the world. Father, may we have a younger generation defined by strong families and rooted in Your teachings. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
