Let Us Pray: So Much for Tolerance

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

On November 30, 2022, The Family Foundation of Virginia, which is our sister counterpart, scheduled an event at the Metzger Bar and Butchery in Richmond, VA. Before The Family Foundation’s event began, the restaurant learned who the group was, and what the foundation stood for.

Once the restaurant learned that the foundation was a Christian organization that opposed abortion and believed in traditional marriage, the restaurant canceled the foundation’s event just hours before it was set to begin. The restaurant released a public statement that read, “We have always refused service to anyone for making our staff uncomfortable or unsafe and this was the driving force behind our decision.”

The restaurant also said, “We respect our staff’s established rights as humans and strive to create a work environment where they can do their jobs with dignity, comfort, and safety.” Simply put, Metzger Bar and Butchery refused to host and serve The Family Foundation of Virginia because of the foundation’s deeply held Biblical beliefs.

This stunt by the restaurant is obviously religious discrimination, which is a clear violation of Virginia law. The hypocrisy on the left is on full display here as they cry for tolerance, and yet are extremely intolerant when confronted with views that conflict with their own.

Unfortunately, this is the path our nation is going down. It is becoming very clear more and more, Biblical orthodoxy is being rejected and treated as a hateful and bigoted view.

LET US PRAY…
Father, help us to remain strong in You no matter the tribulations we may face in this world. Lord, strengthen Your people so that we may always stand strong for You no matter the consequences that may follow. Father, please bless the Family Foundation of Virginia as they continue to fight for Your truth in their state. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
