Let Us Pray

Let Us Pray: Silence is Not the Answer

“Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” – 2 Corinthians 5:8

To be frank, our American society, in many aspects, not only turns a blind eye to Biblical truth but also has hatred toward Biblical truth. There is a considerable segment of Americans who have rejected and portrayed hostility toward the Biblical teachings on issues such as marriage, human life, human sexuality, and more.

Sadly, the American church at times has responded to this type of sentiment with a passive silence. The American church, periodically, has decided to adopt a passive silence and allow the culture to determine truth for itself, so that the Church may be free from any confrontations or battles.

Although the Church is not to be looking for needless conflict, the answer to our society rejecting Biblical truth is not adopting a position of apathetic silence. The Body of Christ is called to be a bold public witness for Christ by engaging the culture and contending for the faith.

The Bible commands us as believers in the Lord to be faithful witnesses for Christ in all aspects of our lives, which includes our works, actions, deeds, words, and more. It must be pointed out that shying away in silence in the midst of a culture that is promoting unbiblical values such as abortion, homosexuality, sexual perversion of various kinds, and more, is antithetical to what it means to be a faithful witness for Christ.

Let us commit to being resilient, steadfast, watchful, and courageous in our public witness for Christ as we defend Biblical truth in our culture.

LET US PRAY…

Father, empower us, Your people, to be faithful in our public witness for You in our culture. Lord, remind us of when we are faced with the world’s rejection of Your truth that we have been called to be bold and courageous in the defense of Biblical truth. Father, help Your Body here in America to reject the temptation to fall into passive silence when times get tough. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
